Historical Jesus
Today I bought "Jesus" by Michael Grant at B. Dalton for $1.99. What a bargain!! And it's a topic I've really been wanting to explore further. Thanks to the girls, I am on pg. 12. It's hard to get much reading time in, but I'm sure I'll have many reflections about what I read in this book.
Some say we should take the Bible literally, in which case I should not be wearing makeup or speaking about spiritual matters at all.
Others say it is poorly translated and interpreted. Still others say it is "encoded". I believe that the Kabbalah states it should not be taken literally at all, but is to be more deeply understood.
In the first 12 pages of the history book I bought, I did learn that Jesus was probably not born in Bethlehem, but more likely in some small Nazareth town. Bethlehem is not in Nazareth.
Pretty simple stuff so far, huh?
If you've read this book, I'd be interested in hearing your comments and insights. Also, please scroll down to the post called "We Crazy Spiritual Seekers".... I included some points which I think are of importance and interest. And thank you!!
Have a blessed day, Crystal
